Why Us

Photo to Painting, Photo to Canvas, Oil Painting on Canvas

Why Project Picasso?

Simply put, all the art we create, whether it is a reproduction or an original is a completely handmade without the help of any digital processes or printing of any kind. An actual human is wholly responsible for bringing your art piece into existence from beginning to end. Straight up 100% organic and certified non-GMO paintings that are good for your soul. It’s not an easy or quick process by any means, but we are taking it back old-school. Ya dig friends?

How different are we really?

You might be asking yourself, what makes us so special? We ask ourselves that sometimes too. To properly illustrate this point let us break down the other types of art reproductions you’re likely to encounter out there, giclee and digital prints. And while we wouldn’t be included in the same conversation as machine-made prints, it’s important to know what they are. Giclee is well-known as a cost-effective and quick way to reproduce an artists’ original artwork with consistency and precision. True giclee prints are done with archival inks and printed using an ink-jet printer on archival paper, whereas digital prints typically are not and typically will fade and deteriorate rather quickly. Either way both use machines and for us that’s a no no. Our oil paintings are all done on archival canvas and with proper care will stand the test of time and then some. A print just can’t compare to the complexity, texture and nuance of a hand painted fine art reproduction that we produce at Project Picasso.

How accurate can our hand paintings be?

The major concern with hand-painted pieces is obviously the accuracy of the reproduction and we’d have to agree with you there. Stuff you find out there can vary wildly depending on the skill and subjectivity of the artist. That’s why we’ve spent a whole lot of time scouring for the very best artists around the globe to deliver a quality of reproduction that is often mistaken for a print. Don’t believe us? See for yourself. Here is an example of a work created for one of our patrons.

At first glance, once can easily mistake that for a digital print, but we assure you that this is a photograph of an actual painting meticulously created by one of our brilliant artists. So rest assured, each piece submitted to us will be made to your exacting requirements and even if we don’t get it right the first time, we will make adjustments until you’re completely stoked.

How long is it going to take to get my masterpiece?

In a time when instant gratification is the norm and attention spans are at an all time low, we decided to go the opposite direction. Everyone wants things now and we get it. We’re all about that Amazon Prime same-day delivery life too. But for artwork, true conversation-worthy artwork that adorns your walls, we really wanted to deliver one-off handmade quality bangers that we’d be proud of. So typical turnaround times for Project Picasso pieces are completed and ready for review within 7-10 days after submission of your work. Yes, you heard right. One can usually expect many weeks or months for a fine art reproduction of this caliber but let’s be real, nobody got time for that. Being able to produce museum quality paintings in that amount of time without sacrificing the integrity and quality of our work is a major point of pride and we will always stand by that. Depending on any required revisions, we can have your piece packed up and shipped to you framed or unframed and you can expect to your custom artwork well within 2-3 weeks. We ship worldwide too, easier than getting out of bed in the morning.
